I am not real familiar with the US immigration and visa system but thought the main way an unskilled foreigner could come here was as a tourist or a student.
We have stores here that seem to hire foreign workers en mass for menial jobs. Nothing high tech. For instance Winn Dixie had Haitians for a long time, but now all the cashiers and some other employees are all from Thailand.
How can anyone come here and work in a grocery store legally?
I have heard Winn Dixie uses a contractor and doesn't pay these workers directly and that they are all on student visas, but have no idea if that is true.
There have been some stores in the past that have been busted using illegal workers. In fact the Dunkin Donuts here lost their franchise for constantly using illegals.
Thanks for any information.
