Shoplifting on my record?

I was caught shoplifting many years ago at a grocery store, it was for a 20$ item and I was 13-14 years old. All I could remember is my parents were called to take me home. No police were not involved nor a court date, but my parents did end up paying a $100 fine that came a mail.

What I want to know if this would appear on my record as a misdemeanor? The reason is I want to apply to get a PERC card in IL and am wondering if this will show up in a criminal background check. The written application requires to state any felony or misdemeanor charges. Thanks!

Illinois juvenile court records relating to incidents occurring before a person’s seventeenth birthday may be expunged when the individual reaches age seventeen or the proceedings have been terminated, if later, under certain circumstances. See 705 Ill. Comp. Stat. § 405/5-915.
