My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Massachusetts
Hi all,
I quit my job for what I believe was just cause, after surviving 2 rounds of layoffs I had inherited the work of 2 other departments and was the only person on call 24/7 365 and was working 12 hrs a day. I kept getting the promise that next month they were hiring more people, but after 8 months I gave up. There were ethical reasons as well like the monthly overbilling of customers that I had discovered and pointed out, and management chose to ignore.
Now I'm waiting for MA to decide if I can collect, it's been 3 months now and I keep calling but they tell me they are backed up and I have to wait until they can get to me. I have a feeling (due to comments made to me) that because I quit my job I keep getting put to the bottom of the list. Is there a certain timeframe they have to close cases by? Also I heard that after 10 weeks you can collect no matter if you were fired or quit, is there any truth to that?
