Question California Law on Health Plans

My question involves insurance law for the state of: CA. My husband and myself currently have health insurance with kaiser under a small business plan, but my husband is retiring and I applied for a individual health plan and was turned down because I take Acetaminophen/Codeine for back problems. Is that legal for them to deny me a individual plan?

    It's legal, and it's common.

    Have you appealed yet?

There are only two states which are guaranteed-issue states (you cannot be turned down for any reason).

    Neither of them is California.
