    Default Telemarketing and Unauthorized Enrollment

I frequently receive telemarketing calls from my credit card companies and banks trying to sell me credit protection plans, overdraft protection plans, etc. They are annoyingly persistent but I tell them no each time. I have read stories online where people are enrolled in these plans against their authorization. What legally does the company have to do to confirm your enrollment in the program since there's no signature or anything? Could an unscrupulous telemarketer enroll me without my consent even after I say no multiple times as "retaliation"?

Default Re: Telemarketing and Unauthorized Enrollment

Is it within the realm of possibility that somebody will claim you enrolled in a service when you didn't? It's possible. Is there a way to guarantee that people will be incapable of lying or committing fraud? Not that I've ever heard of.
