Default How to Make My Ex-Employer Stop Lying to Their Clients

    Hello,

I was employer in company XYZ. Our relationship was without any kind of contract. Again - I did not sing anything.

I was pushed to work hard and then company XYZ dismissed me without notification, without warning. Even without good reasons - my point of view.

I was very upset. That is why I access their clients database. I get clients emails. And I send emails to many clients explaining how company XYZ do lie them.

    I have two questions:

    1. Is it a crime, that I used clients database? Is it a crime, that I told the truth and revealed the company XYZ secrets - how they lie their clients?

    2. Can I make company XYZ to stop lying their clients? Is there anyone interested to proceed with this case?

Note, I have all email communication between company XYZ and their clients. I know most of the lies which company XYZ do.

Example 1: company XYZ offer creating a business listings in Google business directory. Google business listing is free, but company XYZ do sell it. Company XYZ promise "first page placement" in Google search results for one year, which is really not possible.

Example 2: company XYZ offer creating a business listings in Yahoo business directory with 5 photos. But photos are never added because in Yahoo business directory adding photos is not free.

Company XYZ search clients which do not have computer and internet, such clients never check if their business listings are done as promised.

    Kind regards.

I've had this experience with one of the companies I worked for also. Unfortunatly they seem to violate the rules and lie to clients to make more money. This is only a small percentage of the private investigation companies.

    1. You may have violated your do not compete/contact clause which gives the company grounds to sue for damages. However you did not violate any criminal laws.

2.No you can not force a company to stop lying. But contacting their clients might force them to straighten up their actions.(IM NOT TELLING YOU TO CALL THEIR CLIENTS this is merely in response to your comment about emailing them)

If, after your employment was terminated, you went into your ex-employer's password-protected computer system or servers to extract customer email addresses, that was very likely a crime.

If you add to that by contacting their clients and trying to disrupt their business relationships, you increase the odds that they'll try to come down hard on you. DonnyC is glib in his rejection of any sense of legal accountability here, but there's something called "tortious interference with an advantageous business relationship" - if you improperly contact their clients, whether it's by stealing their customer list, sending false claims about their business operations to their customers, or sending truthful claims about other customers that don't happen to be true about the customer you're contacting, you run the risk of being held financially liable in court for the monetary losses you cause.

The work I did was "outsourcing" - I am not based in USA. In this context "I did not sign anything and any contracts or non disclose agreements".

And YES: emails communication IS password protected!
And NO: database with clients, phone numbers, credit card details IS NOT password protected! Everyone who knows the URL can access it.

Company XYZ contact address is Nevada.
