Whether the police WILL go looking for you is unknown. They CAN go looking for you and they can drag your underaged ass back home, what's more. Until you are 18, and not one minute before, you cannot legally leave home without either the permission of your parents or being removed by the state. And if you are removed by the state, you will not be living with your out of state girlfriend, I promise you that.

So, you don't care enough about her family to make sure they're not arrested for aiding a runaway?

But I love her and she loves me.

I can see that being the response from this young misguided kid.

Look man you are young and have your life a head of you. You don't want to mess your future up over something like this. If you two are truely in love and are meant to be. She will wait for you, as you will wait for her. Until the two of you are old enough to be together.

Running away to live with her in her parents house is not a good move. I am willing to bet that her parents don't even know about these plans. Most likely you will get there, and two things will happen. First one is the police will be waiting for you already because I am sure your parents know about this girl in New York. Or the parents will tell you to go back home.

The last thing I will say is this. There is most likely something else going on making you want to leave your family like this. If there isn't and you love your parents and family. Then don't put them through this type of heartache. If you take off and not let them know where your going. Your parents will be sick to there stomachs until you're found.

If there is something going on at home and that is why you want to take off. Then seek help, if your in highschool. Go see your guidance counselor, or talk to a peer listener if they still have that program. Talk to someone that will give you sound advice. Not one of your teenage buddies that will tell you to go for the run.
