    Question Probation Privacy

Question for NJ. Can a probation worker release your private information. This involves releasing info to an ex wife. I have a seperate legal case against my ex wife and the Probation worker is releasing info that is making my case much harder than it should be. Are thay allowed to do this?

    What info has been released?

If it is public record, no problem.

Items such as arrest records, opinions of the probation officer regarding my case, court dates, time remaining on probation.
Because my ex wife is getting this info directly from the probation officer, can I request that any of my personal info not be released? Assuming that any of the above info is considered public info.

You can request anything ... however, much - if not all - of what you just mentioned is public record. And anything that has been submitted to the court is also public record. The info you stated up there is NOT "personal info".

You certainly have a right to speak to your P.O. and even to his or her supervisor on the matter. Perhaps that will address your concerns.
