Default Contract Work for a Week

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Washington

Here is my situation. I work as a graphic designer and got laid off at the end of February 09 and I have been collecting since. I recently got asked to do a one week project for a client.

So far from what I understand I have two choices, I can still make my weekly claim but report what I earned, saying I was self employed and go through the phone interview,

    Or

I don't claim for the week I worked and let my claim close out, then reopen it the following week. However I am unclear at this point which is the best course of action. If I let the claim close out and reopen it the following week, I will probably have to tell them that I did contract work for a week. What is the process of reopening my claim and what are the chances of them denying my claim? Also if I did this repeatedly will the chances of denying my claim get higher?

Any answers to my questions is much appreciated.

It's pretty much six of one, half dozen of the other.

They are not going to deny your claim. They WANT you to take part time work when offered. That's proof to them that you are really following the rules and looking for work.

    BTDT.
