My question involves restraining orders in the State of: Ohio
Franklin County:
My boyfriend was charged with aggravated menacing. I called the police that night because during a heated argument (while he was intoxicated), he pulled out a knife and stabbed his weight bench. He did not hold it to me or directly threaten me with it, nor did he hurt me in any way physically, and he never has.
He served 75 days in jail and his probation was extended until 2012. He does have a record- domestic violence and a DUI.
The judge ordered him to "stay away" from me, though to our knowledge, there is no official restraining order or CPO.
I am a minor (18 in 4 months) and my boyfriend is an adult. My boyfriend won't see me until the order is lifted, as he is very scared of going back to jail (and I don't blame him). My mother is supportive of our relationship and feels comfortable with him; she is willing to get the order lifted but is unsure how to do so. What are the steps in getting the stay away order lifted?
Some direction and help is greatly appreciated.
Lexie
