Unhappy How Long Can They Keep You Incarcerated After Completing Your Sentence

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania.

My husband was on parole and was arrested for drug poss ion. He pled to 6 month probation that was up on March 4th, He got his green sheet back and it said he was on the next available docket for re parole. It has now been there for over a month past his sentence and has yet to go before the board.. How long can they keep you incarcerated past your sentence? Is there a specific time frame they have to see an inmate before they have to release him? Or can they just keep a inmate incarcerated for how ever long it takes to go before the board? Someone please help... Also he has had no other techs and has a great recomendation from his parole officer.. Any info will help thanks!

Apparently they're short-handed in terms of probation officers.

The maximum amount of time you can spend incarcerated for a criminal offense is the maximum term of incarceration set forth in your sentence. That can be your original sentence, or a greater sentence imposed after a probation violation and resentencing.
