My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
I was recently sitting with a few friends in my car at the Grand Rapids Airport viewing area. Somebody told the airport police we were snorting something (which is utterly false) and the police demanded to search the car. In hindsight I feel like I could have refused or at least contested this but in my fear I let him search my car. He asked me if I had anything illegal that he might find and I didn't want to lie so I gave him my glass bowl piece which still had residue in it. We had not been smoking or snorting anything. My ticket says I was charged with use of marijuana. I was not charged with possession of marijuana or drug paraphernalia. I am just wondering what my options are, if I should plea for section 7411 or do something else. I would have dropped clean that day and I am going to stay that way, I don't know if that makes a difference. This my first offense ever, aside from a traffic ticket. Thanks.
