    Default Trial for retail fraud

Hey please help!! this past week my boyfriend and his friend tried to steal some things from a store and got caught for it. The items added up to be under $80. My boyfriend is 18 years old and has nothing on his record. He is scared to death! He has to go to court on thurday. He is also going to go to a therapist this week because he is going through some depression. What he did last week was something that he would never do. I was wondering what he should do prior to the trial. He doesn't really want to get a lawyer, because he knows he is guilty and just wants to plead guilty, but should he? What would be the the most likely outcome of his case? Also he works in retail at another store in his area and he was wondering if there would be a chance of him losing his job. Please help! Thanks so much!!

    Default Shoplifting Trial

Whether or not he should go to trial is something he should discuss with his own lawyer. It would be helpful for him to consult a lawyer, even if he chooses not to retain one, so he can determine what is likely to happen in his case. He may wish to petition for appointed counsel if he cannot afford a lawyer.

If his employer finds out about this then, yes, it could affect his continued employment.
