Default Do paternal biological grandparents have right to know?

I am wondering whether I am obligated to inform the paternal grandparents of the biological father of my child. To my knowledge, I don't think they even know they have a grandchild since the father and I are no longer together. I would like the grandparents and my child to know of each other existence, more for the child's sake and I am NOT seeking any financial support from them. Would they be able to claim any sort of custody or visitation rights?

Your not obligated to notify them. If the father's still alive, it is doubtful they would be able to obtain any type of visitation through the court.
