    Default New York Emancipation

    My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: New York. Okay, I am 15 turning 16 in NY. I want to take on emancipation because my family is breaking apart everyday. I can't stand it anymore! I want to take stay with my Aunt or a friends house, Is that considered okay for being emancipated.

    No.

    Emancipation is about 100% self-support. Moving in with your Auntie is not being self-supporting.

    And that's if your state had statutory provisions for the emancipation of minors.

    New York has no such provisions. Emancipation is not an option for you.
