My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California.
I had a disputed bill with a phone company in 2000.It was for a service which I did not authorize.I never heard from them again. I moved out of California in 2007 to Arizona. Just few days in this 2009 I received a mail from debt collector saying the successor of the company has a judgement against me with respect to debt.
I have never accepted liability or responsibility for the debt. How can l use the statue of limitation to stop the debt agency from disturbing me? Which statue of limitation applies? California where the alleged debt occurred or Arizona where l now resides? Can they report to credit burean?
