My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: New Mexico
my step treats my whole family horrible. he has multiple time hit my mom and siblings and has told me that i am not worth a darn (not actual words because i refuse to use the language). today he yelled at my pregnant mom for me cooking him lunch and i this isn't the first time. due to him doing this for such a long time i have been diagnosed with APS (Alternate Personality Syndrome). we have traced the cause of all my blackouts to him. i was wondering is what are the steps that i would need to take to emancipate my family so that i could attempt to get rid of the blackouts.
Well, I'm not a specialist in disorders of the mind, but I don't think emancipation is the prescribed cure for blackouts.

You can't emancipate a family; emancipation is the state recognizing that someone has reached an age/level of maturity to make their own decisions and be responsible for themselves.

If (when?) he hits your mom/siblings again, what you do is pick up the phone and dial 9-1-1. The cops will come and sort it out. If you are in danger, (or your mom/siblings), then you have every right to call the police to help resolve the issue.

You could also make a complaint with your State's child protective services at 1-800-797-3260. You can read more about that here.
