Default Marrying F1 Visa Holder in His Country

I am a US citizen currently engaged to be married to an F1 visa holder who's visa is still valid for another 2 years. What I was wondering is if we could go back to his country to get married, and then have him return to the USA on his F1 visa and adjust his status once we get back. Would this be legal, or would his F1 visa no longer be valid once we got married outside the USA. Any help would be wonderful! Thank you.

Default Re: Marrying F1 Visa Holder in His Country

The marriage of itself won't affect his visa, although if the USCIS knows he's married they may question his intentions when he enters under a student visa, which is a non-immigrant visa. He shouldn't be entering on a F1 visa, representing that he has no intention of immigrating, while planning to adjust his status - that runs the risk that he'll be accused of fraud.
