Default How Would I Go About Hyphenating My Daughters Last Name

I live in New York State

My daughter only has her fathers last name but now I would like to ass my last name, hyphenate it. How would I go about doing this? His name isn't on her birth certificate so I know that I wouldn't need his permission or anything. I'm just confused about how to go about this..

You want to do what to your name? (Add, I assume, but that's quite a typo. )

Has paternity been established or not? Is there a custody order, visitation order, and/or support order in effect?
