    Question Emancipation in South Dakota

    I am almost 16, I live in South Dakota. I have good grades, I participate in sports and have a job. I live with my mom and her fiance. My mom smokes pot, has depression, sleeps all day and leaves me with my grandma every winter to vacation in Arizona. Her fiance is a farmer and has no children. He has threatened to put me in the hospital and is verbally abusive. My dad lives in Arkansas and has custody of me. I would like to live away from my mother but continue at my school, but she does not agree and neither does my dad. Can I be emancipated when I turn 16?
