My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Arkansas

I am a Lean Manufacturing Engineer and I am classified salaried exempt. My company requires me to use my vacation time for missed time, even for plant shutdowns. They don't allow me "comp" time, nor overtime. I don't know if this is legal or not, but my biggest problem with it is that the situation is a "different rules for different people" thing. Certain people don't have to report their times nor are they required to use vacation when they miss, for whatever reason. Is this fair and legal?

Also, our vacation policy changed a few years ago to an accrual system, but the company didn't pay us or start us out at "even", they picked a day and started everyone from scratch. If you took vacation anytime in that year, you would go into a negative situation. Some of us have never gotten out of the negative because of the new policy and the requirement of using vacation during missed time.
