In Need of Child Support From Father

Ok,
I'm 20 years old and I live in Canada. I've met my father once, when my twin sister and I were babies he was giving my mom child support suddenly he vanished leaving my mom, sister and I with no money. Now I am 20 years old and I in University and my twin sister is in College. My problem is, I have no money to cover costs of my schooling and same with my sister. My mother is doing her best but it is just not enough.
My question is:
If my sister and I were to go after him for child support does he have to give it to us or are we too old to collect it?
