Default Busted with Drugs and Worried About Mandatory Life Sentence

My question involves criminal law for the state of: michigan
this is as the story goes i was drunk and idiotically decided to drive somewhere realizing that i was to drunk to drive i parked the car on the shoulder of the road and walked back to the house where i was staying (also my girlfriends house)
someone saw me walking down the road and decided to cal the police on me
the police went to the vehicle found where it was registered to and drove there
before i made it back to the house, let themselves in, talked to my sisters brother who told them i was not there and then they left to find me.
the police then approached me in the cruiser and and stepped out asking me why the car was on the side of the road and obviously i was intoxicated so there was no chance at escaping a DUI charge so i told them that i drove it there realized i could not continue driving and started walking back home they put me in handcuffs put me in the back of the car then drove to my girlfriends house and searched the house without a warrant and found 84 or less pills of extacy cant remember how many i had which had me worried because i had a previous marijuana charge that i had been busted with.
now im just worried about the Michigan mandatory life sentence law or whatever. i know i was get some hard time im just worried about the mandatory life sentence any help would be appreciated

You're probably worrying too much; which isn't to say you can't to a lot of time for dealing drugs. What exact charges have been filed against you - MCL numbers, habitualization charges, etc.?

no charges yet, for reasons i would rather not say online. had a past felony marijuana conviction, but completed the h.y.t.a. program.

    you basically answered my question.
no doubt i will be doing some time for this i was just very concerned about the possibility of the mandatory life sentence the lawyer i will be retaining should be able to help out with the rest thanks.

Exclamation Re: Busted with Drugs and Worried About Mandatory Life Sentence

any resident or even a person staying the night has the right to consent to a search it doesnt have to be just him or his sister. I don't think they would do a search unless there was something laying out in the open or they had pc to search. Not to say it couldn't happen just very unlikely.

we live a a very "good ol boy" county the police here can get away with anything because its kinda a small town and a lot of people are poor.
its been my observation that the whiter and richer you are the less stiff the penalty
