    Default 20 years house arrest

I was convicted of dealing in cocaine over 3 grams in the state of Indiana which is a class A felony. I had a prior unrelated felony conviction in the state of Michigan 6 years prior. The prior conviciton made my sentence a mandatory minimum of 20 years.I was sentenced to 20 years to be served on home detention. I know I am extremely lucky not to be in prison right now, I had a great lawyer and he served me well obviously. I 've served nearly 2 years now with no problems what so ever. My lawyer says that I can not get a modification until the prosecutor okays the fact that I can go infront of the judge, which he/she could reject that request for the whole 20 years. I am willing to pay good money for any legal advice. I know some people out there will think that I should be in prison for this, but I have no violent history at all and my prior felony was breaking into a car to steal a stereo when i was 18. The judge didnt even want to sentence me that harshly, of course, or I would be in prison. The law stated he had to, so here I am, searching for a loop hole or some kind of help. If anyone has an opinion or could refer me to someone that could help please contact me at jthelk@yahoo.com. I believe mandatory sentences are for threats to society, how can child molesters, rapists, etc. be out here totaly free after a couple years, and here I am sitting at home(nearly in prison for 20 years-do 10) ready to move on with my life but can't because I broke into a car when I was 18. Thank you for your time.

My god thats horrible, but at least your not in prison. 20 years seems rediculous for 3grams of coke.

    Good luck with your case.
