    Default Taking a break between jobs while having H1

    Hi, I am currently planning to change my job here in the US. I have an
    H1. What I also want is to take a break in between the switch. So, is
    it possible and legal for me to take an unofficial holiday after
    quitting my first job and prior to joining my second. If yes, what is
    the maximum time for which I can take this break?

    If you let your H1-B expire, you are supposed to leave the country. Why not work out something with your new employer, such that you have an up-front vacation rather than starting the new job immediately?
