Can my Illegal Immigrant Fiance Stay?

My fiance entered this country illegaly, b/c his country wouldn't give him a visa or whatever it was that he needed. He was here legally years before.....I want to marry him, but I am afraid of what will become? I don't want to be without him a night, let alone months to years. Can someone please advise me on what we have to do. Should he leave the way he came in and then I go there to marry him? Should I marry him here? I heard something about a law that Bush passed...something that states any illegal citizens that entered before a certain year, can stay....

Since he entered the country legally, the best approach would normally be to marry him here and seek to adjust his status, perhaps in consultation with an immigration lawyer.

If he leaves the country, he will probably be unable to return for a period of years due to his prior illegal presence. That is, if he wishes to gain legal status he should not leave the country before this is resolved.

i am in the same situation as you are...i have heard good and bad of both side...marry him here marry him in mexico.....i dont know what to do i dont want to lose him....we need to get BUSH out of office...i dont understand if two people are in love why does it have to be so difficult in order to obtain staus here in the USA....my boyfriend is illegal from mexico and wants to go see his familly its been 3 years.....but then again neither one of us are willing to take the chance of him leaving and then having the 10 year bar thing forcing him to stay there....we need to ALL COME TOGETHER AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!!!!!
