My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Georgia
I was denied unemployment benefits due to call avoidance policy. The policy states if you transfer a call the penalty is critical conditional or up to termination. Critical condition means-you are put on probation for 6 months and you can not have any incidents within the 6 month period if so you will be terminated. I transfer a call 3 minutes before my shift end due to paperwork which needed to be completed and a requirement to hand when my shift end. It takes 3 mintes to complete each form. This was first time i have ever transfer a call before the end of my shift. i never received a verbal or written warning. I was fired. the employer stated they inform me of this policy. My manager sent out a email of the call avoidance policy 1 day after the incident occured. I did not recall the details of this policy until she sent the email to my team. I was told at the time i was hired this policy was given to me. i was hired with this company in 2007. Please adviced if it would be worth filing appeal for my unemployment benefits. If so any adviced on typing up an appeal letter?
