    Default H-1B Visa Stamping

    Hello,

I recently changed my F-1 visa to H-1B. Now to get the H-1B visa stamped, do I need to go to my home country OR I can just go to a neighbouring country, like Canada/Mexico and get it stamped there?

Default Getting a H1-B Visa Stamped

If you have all your documents in order, have never been out of status, and have not been involved in any unlawfully activity, it should not matter where you go for stamping.

    Default H-1B Visa Stamping

Thank for your reply. I have another doubt now.

I heard from someone when I was in school that it's illegal to send (wire) money to your home country while you are on student visa (F-1). Is that true?

I am on OPT now and I have got my H-1B visa but the H-1B visa becomes effective from May 9, '06 until then I am on OPT. I was assuming that it's illegal to send money while on F-1 and so, I was just gonna wait until my status changes to H-1B.
