Question Proving to the Court I've Been Good for the Last Year

My question involves criminal law for the state of: NH

Hey there. I'll try and make this as short as possible.

Last may I got charged with a second offense marijuana violation. The bare minimum sentence the judge could give me was $700 in fines and 30 days in jail. He told me he was scheduling a court date 1 year from now, and I was to come back and "prove" to the court I've been of good behavior.

I was hoping there's someone smart out there to let me know what they might be looking for, proof wise. I've since quit, and have spent the last year completely obeying the law.

Thank you to anyone who might have some insight into my problem!!!!

    Chris

What evidence do you have? Proof of continuous employment? Character references?

There's a good chance, though, that this will be a perfunctory hearing where the court's primary interest is to learn from a probation officer describe whether your record is clear of any new criminal (and possibly traffic) offenses, and that you don't have any probation violations. It doesn't hurt to be prepared, though.

    Default knowitall is bang on

being prepared is smart, lots of stuff you can do
stay out of trouble, show effort, stable job, charecter references,
take a course to better yourself (maybe education wise, church, bible study), volunteer at a soup kitchen a few hours a month, join a support group.

some local junior colleges may have free or low cost courses.
    good luck to you

I've gotten 5 character reference letters, 4 from high ranking people at the job I've held for 2 years, and 1 from my mother (hey, it can't hurt, right?). Do you think they'll drug test me on the spot? should I write a letter for myself and read it aloud? any other tips and tricks?
