Default Can I Divorce if Our House is Under Foreclosure

My question involves divorce in the State of: North Carolina
After 9 years of marriage my wife walked out and left w/ our 5-year-old daughter. I moved out of our house it's been almost 4 years now and we are not even legally separated. Can this cause any issues for me? We have a house that is foreclosure as well I was told I couldn’t get divorced if we own a house or property together. Is this true? Can we get divorced with the house not sold?

"I was told I couldn’t get divorced if we own a house" - who is the person telling you this nonsense? Is there a village idiot walking around, telling people stupid things? It would seem so, but then, why do so many people believe what the village idiot tells them about their legal rights?

If you want to get divorced, hire a lawyer and start the divorce process.
