My question is from the state of : Arkansas

My ex was recently awarded visitation rights last year and ordered to pay child support around october. My lawyer informed me that until the process for having the money taken out of his check by Child Support Enforcement was complete he was supposed to pay the money to me directly, or rather, through our lawyers. Idid receive two money orders from him via my lawyer about a month late, yet nothing else was sent after that until it was finally being taken out of his checks around January. From what I've come to know about him my assumption is that he doesn't believe he really had to pay anything until it was taken out of his checks finally, even after receiving a letter from my lawyer about citing him. Anyways, to get to the point, he only owes $550.00 or so which I know is not very much in comparison to just about any of the cases out there. The thing is, I'm wondering if there is a debt limit that must be reached in arkansas before he can be held for contempt. I'm kind of assuming no, since nothing was said by my lawyer, yet I've heard about it being the case in other states. And if there is not, I'm really just wanting him to know I'm taking everything serious as far as everything that was settled in court. I hope I didn't ramble a whole lot! Any advice would be lovely, thanks!!
