In 2007 my landlord filed an unlawful detainer against me... We settled and singed an agreement. I agreed to pay back rent and he agreed to contact the court to remove the judgment against me and to fix my heat , fix a gas leak and rid the unit of rats and roaches. He fixed the gas leak a year latter after he was ordered by the city inspector to do so.
Today I received an order to show cause ( listing my landlord as the plaintiff ) from the court..it states : Order to show cause hearing.
You are ordered to appear for an order to show cause hearing on : DATE TIME
and show cause why sanctions should not be imposed for failure to file judgment pursuant to court order.
I called the lawyer office on the summons and they have no record of a court date or any record of an unlawful detainer on myself.
Is the order to show cause to the plaintiff or to me? Do I need to answer it? I have a copy of the payment to the landlord and the agreement we both signed.
