Okay, so I'm a bit confused and wondering if what happened to me today was legal. I submitted a resume and was called for an interview. The next day I was offered the position ans told them I would work part time for two weeks (my notice to my other employer) then go full time. Not once was I ever told that my position would be temporary, probationary, at-will or on a trial basis. I worked the two part-time weeks and on the friday of my first full time week I was fired. With no other explanation than "it's just not a good fit, I'm going to leave it at that" - and I repeatedly asked for a clearer explanation. I was given no warning, no reason to believe I was not fulfilling and part of my job description accurately and up until the point I was fired, my immediate supervisor (the one who fired me) was still leading me to believe that I was doing well and still showing me new things and teaching me more about the responsibilities of my new position. I was never offered an employee handbook or manual, nor was there a contract or any form of agreement signed. I left another position for this job because I had no reason to believe it would end. Now I don't know what action I can take because I really feel as though I was wrongfully terminated. Am I wrong or is there something not right about what happened??
Thanks for your time and advice in advance.
