    Default Vacation Rental Problems

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Florida

Here are issues that I have with the vacation rental condo I am in at this time. This is listed as a luxury condo and it is "new". What can I expect from the rental agency as compensation? Thanks!

    Problem areas: (checked in 3/20)

    1. No balcony furniture
    2. No table and chairs for dining; only 3 bar stools at a 12" bar.
    3. Blinds in BR do not fit the window properly; you can see in from the hallway; there are no curtains which also allows the bright lights from the hallway to interfer with sleep.
    4. There is no dresser or chest of drawers in the BR to put clothes.
    5. The phone does not allow a call to go through after dialing 9 for an outside line.
    6. Steped on carpet tack sticking up at LR/Kitchen junction. (Fixed on 3/22)
    7. Master bathroom does not have hot water to the shower (fixed 3/23)
    8. TV in LR has terrible reception (fixed 3/23)
    9. Door bell does not work.
    10. All walls are bare; no pictures, etc.
    11. All lights are very dim in each bath; they have only 25W bulbs; 40W bulbs should be the minimum so you can see.

You will submit your list and make a request. They will offer back something less, perhaps nothing. Then you will try to negotiate something mutually satisfactory.

Thanks! I did discuss the problems and they offered an additional 30% refund for the week. That was almost $500. I still think they should have given back 50%. It was a very disheartening situation. I guess I will now go and write my wonderful review for the world to see.

I would suggest waiting until you have the check in your hand (or have verified the chargeback).
