    Default E2 Visa Dependent

I lived in the states for almost 9 years as an e2 visa dependent on my fathers visa. I left for Canada 8 months ago. At the time I wasn't aware that I needed to submit I-94 upon leaving. I would now like to return the U.S. I'm 20 and have 7 months until my 21st birthday. My father informed me that I would encounter problems trying to return and it would be near impossible. He claimed I would need something stamped and that it would not be possible without his presence. I am extremely confused about what he is talking about. How is that possible and what exactly is he referring to? &, what steps do I take to fix the problem?
Also I might add that my father claims the fact that I moved back to Canada has caused my status to change. Is there any truth in this? How can I take matters into my own hands?

The I-94 issue can be overcome, particularly as you don't have an overstay issue - you can stay in status as an E2 dependent until you're 21.

If you want to know what your father is talking about in relation to meeting you at a border crossing to sign something, I suggest you ask him.

If you're planning to stay in the U.S. past the age of 21, perhaps you should consider other visas you may qualify to obtain, and whether you should pursue those instead.

What steps do I need to take to correct the issue with my I-94?
well my father seems very bitter about me coming back to the states that is why I'm trying to find answers elsewhere. So regardless, I am still in status as an e2dependent until age 21? Me moving back to Canada for this time has no effect on this status? So I could actually just adjust my status when applying for a new visa?
