Default Welfare and the Green Card

I got my greencard in 2004.
6 months later my son was born. I didn't have any health insurance at the time and so I applied for the medical.
My son was still on medical until he turned 3.
I have never applied for any cash aid or food stamps.
I only learned recently that I'm not suppose to apply for any government aid, not until 10yrs after getting the greencard..TT
Next year I want to apply for the citizenship but I'm so afraid that I'll be rejected and might not even be able to renew the greencard when the time came..can you pls tell me what to expect in my situation?
thank you so much for your help and your time.
