Default Getting a License Despite Out-of-State Revocation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: IL
I received 2 DUI's in IL 7 years apart. The last one being in 2001. I went through classes which was 3 years ago and successfully completed. However, did not have the money at that time to go back to IL to the hearing. I now live in CO. I read an article where a women lived in CO and had her license revoked for dui's and then moved to AZ. She was able to get a lawyer to get CO to release her license to AZ with the promise that she would never drive in CO again. And AZ then gave her a license there. Is that something that you think I could do with IL? If so, I don't know how to go about doing this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Speak to a Colorado attorney who is experienced in issues such as yours. Explain what happened and he will more than likely give you his opinion of what can or cannot be done.

Colorado will NOT issue a license to you under any circumstances if you are revoked in another State. The only exceptions are the five "non compact law" States. They are MA, MI, MO, GA and Arkansas. I'm guessing the story about the woman in Arizona if true, had to have happened prior to the Driver's License Compact Law of 1992. Since then, it doesn't happen.
