yes, if you read the posts above, you will see it clearly delineated in the statute.

    Wrong.

The minor does what his/her parents tell him/her to do. Period.

If this includes not seeing the older person, then the relationship is over. If this means that the minor cannot move in with the older person, no one is moving.

    Period.

no, by law they are not prohibited from engaging in sexual activity. I've already been to court to stop my 16 y/o step-daughter from being with her 18 y/o boyfriend and the judge wasn't able to do anything but tell her to do what her father said. If the kids are going to do it, there is nothing legally the parents can do to stop it.

not to mention that if you read the post it is the 19 y/o's parents who disagree. not the minor's.

I never said it was illegal for them to have sex. I said the minor had to do what his/her parents told him/her to do.

If the 19 year old's parents do not want this to happen, I assure you there are ways they can make their wishes known.

    Sex always complicates things.

As mom said "Keep your zipper zipped..."
...but back in my day Button Fly jeans were the in thing...
Do they even make button fly jeans anymore?

    Sheesh...

Five years from now the 17 year old and 19 year old are going to regret this when they have 2 kids and live in a run-down house trying to make ends meet. ...it's their choice, but a poor choice.

Grow up, get a job, go to college, spend a few years in the military to pay for college if you need to do so.

...and then, maybe, just maybe, you will be mature enough to know what you are doing sticking Tab A into Slot B like you were assembling a Burger King "crown." ...and some kids look at it like that...

    Bran -

Thank GOD you explained this! I've been going nuts trying to figure out why I have a slot labeled "B".
