    Default Appeased

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: PA

My immediate supervisor applied and took a higher position, so her job is available right? well... it was in the newspaper but not posted in the office like every other job usually is. when I saw the ad i submitted my letter of interest, a week prior 4 guys were hired just regular new employees, my letter of interest wasn't acknowledged until i went to the newly appointed former supervisor who suggested i apply (the same person who hired the 4 guys) she said oh they will get to you they did i had my interview and it was all about throwing everyone of my co workers under the "bus" (which i refuse to do) a 2 hour interview almost 90 days ago and still no response from them, come to find out one of the 4 guys was hired for the position. It technically wasn't offered to me I have been there for 4 years all of my reviews are outstanding meeting & exceeding standards. This guy is getting paid $5 more an hour to catch up to what i already know. the policy manual states that they will hire from within before going outside of the company. i just don't get it any thoughts? thanks!

My thoughts are that they had no legal obligation to offer you the job or even to interview you for it.

I have to agree with cbg. Your employer did nothing illegal or even wrong in not offering you the position.
