My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
I recently posted a thread regarding a domstic violence case I am involved in. I spoke with the DA last week, and they said they will offer my fiance a plea deal, and rewrite the statement as there were many false details, most included by the ADA, I believe they were misunderstandings. In any case, my fiance's court appearance is tomorrow. I have been frantic trying to get intouch with th DA, but to no avail. I want to know:
1) If I can go to the appearance tomorrow. There is a temporary order of protection and it states "it is further ordered that this order of protection shall remain in effect intil 3/18/09". Does this means it ends on 3/18 or ends on 3/19? I am not clear on that.
2) What is a plea deal, and what does it involve? Does it mean he will go to anger management or community service?
