My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Hawaii
Hi everyone,
I am a full time student (evenings & online) I asked my boss if I could student teach from 8-12pm for 10 weeks and he agreed. I was assured if any problems occurred we would work them out. I agreed to stay late and work weekends if need be.
After 6 weeks my boss asks me to come in on a weekend, I assume to work, when he tells me I am no longer needed and he has hired someone else.
He said the school is NOW a problem. I was never given a warning or reprimand that there was a problem (no work gone unattended or anything).
I was never given a heads up as to any concerns about my schedule so that I could have withdrawn form class to KEEP my job.
**The person he hired, is doing my job plus additional work I was not qualified to do. Which I think was the plan!
How do I proceed with my claimant separation statement and do I have a chance of receiving benefits?
I really need & appreciate any advice (single parent cash strapped!)
