My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
I worked for Cedar Point as a housekeeping supervisor. I was checking the housekeepers rooms to make sure they were clean and I came across a bag of pot, since its against hotel policy and against the LAWW I took it and threw it away (I hate drugs). But the weird thing was, the person called the COPS and reported someone stole his pot and they actually investigated it and I was arrested at my house. The cop took me to the station telling me he knew I took it and i admitted to taking it and throwing it away and told him why. He took me to the court house and made me tell the judge what I told him and then they said If I plead guilty they will hold me in jail til my court date. So I was confused and just said no contest like they wanted me to and he said he was guilty and made me pay a fine and said I'm free too go home? So I didn't really care about getting charged with the theft because I was moving back to Canton and just wanted to get out of that county.
Now, that theft is RUINING be getting good jobs. It's been over a year since the case, is there anything I can do about it? Appeal it? Because I felt it was real unfair and I felt intimated so just did what they wanted me to do.. it all took 20 mins since the second they arrested me. Can I get it expundged? Even If I have other offenses in other counties.
Thanks for the help!
