Default Penalty for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois.
How much time has someone recieved for possesion of a stolen vehichle class two felony... I know that you could serve 3-7 years, but how much time has someone who has personally been charged with this served.

Also, what does converting of a stolen vehichle mean?

Default Re: Penalty for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

Conversion means you gain possession lawfully but take subsequent action to try to deprive the owner of the property. For example, if I borrow your bicycle and you say "yes", but then I sell it to somebody through craigslist.

The sentence will depend upon many factors, including prior record and the full facts of the offense. You'll find people who received everything from probation to the maximum prison term.
