My question involves real estate located in the State of: Maryland
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

We live in a 100 year old home next door to an old church in a small town. They are about to do construction which we are opposing. We have discovered, after they accused us of having our fence 2 inches on their property, that their survey gives a property line 5 feet from our house, our survey says it is 12 feet from our house.

Our survey was done 5 years ago, their's in 1968, but confirmed with a more recent survey. The problem is an old tree in the back corner of our property, so our lot lines don't properly close, and our survey shows the line comes from the back at a 53 degree angle, there survey shows a 45 degree angle.

They are being quite nasty because of our opposition to the construction (they are putting a huge parking lot in the middle of a historic area).

Our survey is reflected on the deed to our property, I assume there's is as well. It is getting quite contentious and at this point we are ready to put our house on the market, so we need to resolve it.

Any advice - I'm exhausted from dealing with this!
