Default Becoming a Financial Services Representative

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: PA

I know that a background check is required for licensing for the PA Life Insurance\Health and the FINRA\Series 6 exams. What exactly be considered disqualifications for obtaining these licenses (ie. would a misdemeanor be enough) and are they nationwide background checks?
