Default Class C Misdemeanor - Assault

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

I was charged with an assault almost two years ago. I defended myself from my boyfriend and I was taken away. I had never been in trouble before and had the opportunity to do a 6 month probabation time to get it cleared, however I was not able to stay in Texas during that time due to work. I had to settle with the Class C Misdeameanor and now I am trying to figure out if there is anyway to fight this conviction again now that I am back in Texas. I am eager to get into the nursing profession, however I am afraid I will not be accepted with this on my record.

Is there anything that can be done?

    Thank you in advance,
    Natalie

If convicted, to get any relief from your conviction you must first get a pardon.
