    Default Government and Public Records

Does any know if there are any Government Websites that I can use to do background checks?
I have heard some of my fellow bosses tell me that they do background check on that employees and I wasn't sure how they do it. Is there any way to check a person criminal record using a government website. Would the national archives have this sort of information?

You can use whatever resources you find to perform background checks. Not all information is available online, and not all information is available for free.
