    Default 2nd Degree Burglary

My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York

My father just got charged with second degree burglary(class C felony) and I'm wondering what he could be looking at as far as prison time/probation/etc. goes.
He has a few minor arrests when he was younger.
thanks for any help or information. I want to know what the maximum amount of time he could face or what the average punishment is for this crime.

really depends on what those minor arrests were and whether it led to prior convictions. In extreme cases, he can be sentenced to life in prison....

He was never convicted of any of them except for a DWI, I believe. He only had a fine I remember for that and I know it was marijuana not alcohol. He was caught once for shoplifting a while back but it was dropped. Besides those I'm pretty sure he's clean besides a few traffic tickets.
