Default Becoming a Nurse's Aide With a Criminal Record

My question involves criminal records for the state of: New York

About 5 years ago I was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor in NY, when I was a teenager. The charges were later dropped after I received an ACD and I was never convicted. I'm a lot more mature and have since learned from that incident and I want to become a nurse's aide but I'm afraid that once I submit to a background check, employers will look at this in a negative way and might not hire me. Will this event affect me from becoming certified and finding employment?

Default Re: Can This Past Charge Hinder Me

An ACD is (after six months) a dismissal with no criminal consequences: no criminal record, no rap sheet, with all records of the prosecution sealed and expunged.
Based on this, you should be OK for the job that you're applying for.
