i used a lawyer in 2 of my 4 accidents, i actually did better without one, if you know what your policy limit is. they wont want to settle on the injurys until you are finished with doctors treatment. then depending on scars, etc. figure absolute MINIMUM of 3 to 5 times medical bills as settlement. if you have the coverage much more if you have lasting injuries. such as scars or limp etc.and the insurance co will work with you. if the person had no insurance, the odds are he doesnt have anything you can get. such as lien on his house etc. thats the only issue a lawyer is helpful for. you have to figure the attorney is a minimum of 1/3 for doing almost nothing, if he has to go to court he is going to get close to 1/2. take that into consideration. what your policy limit is, matters a lot.also DONT USE a CHIROPRACTOR, as your doctor..
